KATIE 2

Do you know something has changed with Katie because she is happily and voluntarily reading books.  I am now buying her books for her Kindle on a regular basis. This is another positive change I have seen and she does seem happier in herself.

SIMON

“Simon has passed the exams for a selective school. He is a charming boy, doing well but rather disorganised. He is finally starting to grow up! He is more willing to go out with young people or to be on his own. He is neither one thing or another yet but I get the feeling he is growing in the right direction and that he will turn out to be a very decent adult.”
Simon, 16 years old, history of Pervasive developmental disorder / ADHD

LIAM

“Liam has been doing pretty well over the past months! In general, we have noticed more calming and less stimmy behaviour (although a little return recently). He just seems a little more content. Also, it has been a great month or two with toileting issues. His sleep has been fantastic lately.”

BEA

“Bea has been on the programme for less than 3 months but there has been a lot of progress in language skills. She can say far more of her sounds properly now and her vocabulary is increasing. She has also made a couple of ‘proper’ friends at school and can talk about what happened in the school day too. She is doing phonics and getting a grasp, but it is slow. She now talks quite a lot, openly and confidently, which is a huge change.”

JOSH 4

“Joshua left for secondary school with several gorilla tags sewed discreetly into various parts of his uniform, including his PE trainers. There were bumps along the way, but overall the transition went more smoothly than I dared hope for. I have also noticed an increase in the speed of progress in many areas.”
Josh, 12 years old, Specific language impairment

RICKY 2

“The biggest thing I have noticed is the drop in Ricky’s stress levels over homework. I used to get full explosions and not be able to understand why. I considered dropping the out of school activities that he loved. Home is much calmer now and everything flows better.”

JOAN 1

“Since I started the programme I am hearing familiar music with a top line I have never heard before. Extremely disconcerting, and funny, especially to a lifelong soprano.”

LISETH 1

Liseth has made huge progress. She is better at getting down to things and finishing tasks and loves her teacher. At home she is more helpful, better at doing what she is asked to do and has fewer tantrums. She can tie her shoelaces and is generally better organised. Her fine motor control has come on hugely and she takes a great deal of care now. Tests show her listening skills and balance are much better. Her non-verbal IQ has improved from the bottom 10% of her age group to the top 10%!

IVOR 1

“Within three weeks of starting the programme the improvement was dramatic.  Ivor is very popular, kind, caring and has a really lovely nature. He is confident, very sporty and children really want to be with him. He does a lot more than his older brother would have done. People often comment on how polite and charming he is.”

JOSH 3

“Josh has done pretty well in geography and French. But wait – who is above the class average (62%) and the year average (67%) with a score of 71%? Yes he is. From Foundation maths to this. He is really delighted. He is now beginning to recognise exam stress and will say he feels excited.”

JOAN 2

“I have experienced restless and disturbed sleep for about 15 years. All changed, sometimes I sleep right through the night. If I get up I go straight back to sleep and my sleep is deep and restful so I wake up before the alarm ready for the day.”

ANGELA

“My son received an ASD diagnosis aged 3. After ten years most of the symptoms have gone, leaving a core of speech and language issues. But now the diagnosis no longer fits, I can find no professional with the knowledge, insight or courage to remove the label and recognise his needs as they now stand.”
Angela, Primary school teacher

NOAH

“Noah has made good progress in the last few weeks. His receptive language is improving, with a huge improvement in understanding, and he has much more vocabulary now. He has said single words every now and again in context. His gross-motor skills are developing and he is better at dressing himself. It may take a while, but he will work at it until he succeeds.”

JOSH 2

Josh now writes all the time, mainly movie scenes. His writing is greatly improved from even a year and a half ago when things were still very garbled. He can use the third person now and his stories, though basic, are coherent and his syntax is a lot better. He can now fill a whole page of A4. It’s odd that the thing he finds most difficult is the thing he can spend ages doing in his spare time – making and illustrating his own stories.

TRACY

I have read a book for the first time in ages and retained the information. I have been able to express myself better at work under pressure and had fewer problems with articulation. I feel a lot stronger now that I don’t have to think about how to construct a sentence before I need to speak.

JOAN

I have lost nearly 3 stone without dieting, most of it in the last 12 months. My metabolism is working, therefore my health is improving, my thinking is clear, I am not anxious, I am not depressed, I am learning new skills, loving that process and finding it easier than I did at 40.
